Apocalypse
'Doomsday Shelter' Being Built in Kansas
Wyoming, and porn company Pink Visual aren't the only ones who are preparing for the apocalypse! Now it seems that Kansas is doing their best doomsday preparation, by building a luxury underground condominium complex deep below a prairie in the shaft of an abandoned missile silo.
This deluxe "Doomsday development" comes with a pool, movie theater, library, and a guarantee that you will survive Doomsday if, and when that fateful day comes. These are being built to withstand everything from economic collapse, solar flares, terrorist attacks, and pandemics as well.
So far, four buyers have thrown down a total of about $7 million for their "safe haven". The developer of the Larry Hall is planning on building three more Cold War-era silos when this one fills up. Hall, 55, bought one of the condos for himself, because his main fear is that the sun flares are going to wipe out the power grid and cause chaos. He and his wife and son live in Denver and will use their condo mostly as a vacation home, he says, but if the grid goes, they will be ready.
I have mixed emotions when it comes to all the Doomsday mumbo-jumbo, but if I had an extremely disposable income I would purchase one of these condos, because as the saying goes "it's better to be safe, then sorry". I'm just really sorry I don't have an extra $7 million in my bank account.
