One World Trade Center's Spire On Its Way From Canada
The moment I've been waiting for since September 11, 2001 is almost here- the completion of the new World Trade Center in New York City.
I loved the old Twin Towers, but think the new design is pretty cool as well.
As One World Trade Center, also known as the Freedom Tower, nears completion, it's spire is making its way to the city from Canada.
The spire will bring the skyscraper's total height to an outstanding 1,776 feet, but is tall and massive all by itself.
The 408-foot spire, made of tubular steel, is being shipped in 18 sections weighing from 10,000 pounds to 67 tons each.
It will support antennae for a new broadcast station inside the building.
One World Trade Center should be finished by early 2014, and I'm looking forward to seeing it dominate the Manhattan skyline.
