Man Lets Hundreds of Animals Starve to Death

Hundreds of pigs and other animals starved to death because of one tired asshole.

John Maahs, 61, allowed up to 1,000 pigs to die of starvation.

Police found 140 live pigs, several goats, and one calf, all without food or water.

All animals were rescued by the Nebraska Humane Society and officers.

Maahs told the court that he "got lazy and didn't take care of things at home because of a full time job."

A psychological evaluation of Maahs showed no signs of mental illness. Yup, he is just an asshole.

Maahs was sentenced to 20 months to four years in prison, and is prohibited from owning any animals for 15 years after his release.
