Chris Brown and Drake Sued for $16 Million by NYC Nightclub
Many hip-hop artists are known for their aggressive, competitive attitudes and rap lyrics.
Chris Brown and Drake put their rough-and-tough attitude on display in New York at a nightclub back in June. Check out the details here.
The two rappers are being sued for $16 million by W.i.P., the NYC nightclub where their entourages allegedly got into a violent brawl on June 14. E! News obtained the lawsuit filed by Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (the owner of W.i.P. and Greenhouse Clubs) alleging that Brown and Drake themselves were the causes behind their entourages fighting.
According to the lawsuit, Brown and Drake have had tension with other due to their intimate relationships with the same woman- Rihanna.
Check out the club's lawsuit here.
The club explained what it witnessed when the two artists butted heads.
Members of each group used what ever they could as weapons, such as glass bottles and furniture. Many surrounding people were terrorized and some even got hurt, including NBA star Tony Parker.
Neither Chris Brown nor Drake have been criminally charged for anything related to the big fight.
The club is mainly upset with the negative after-effects of the brawl. Due to publicity about the fight, a $4 million deal to license Greenhouse's name for other clubs around the country was canceled, the lawsuit states. The current owners face suits over the violence, including a $20 million claim from Tony Parker.
The city shut down the club for a time after the brawl; Greenhouse reopened July 10. It is continuing to fight a State Liquor Authority effort to nix its liquor license.
As a fan of both artists, I hope this tension gets resolved as soon as possible. I also hope the nightclub bounces back since it didn't ask for these problems.

The club explained what it witnessed when the two artists butted heads.
"They each had their own small army of bodyguards, 'security' personnel, employees, friends and other members of their entourage, consisting of at least 15 heavily built men trained and/or experienced in hand-to-hand and weapons combat. They then each ordered his security personnel, bodyguards, friends and entourage to join the fight, which erupted into a violent brawl on a massive scale."
