Man Arrested for Drunk Driving with 0.627% Blood Alcohol Level
In North Liberty, Iowa, a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving after being hospitalized with a blood alcohol level of 0.627%.

Yeah, this seriously happened... a BAC of .627% is high enough to have killed him, as studies have shown that blood alcohol content levels above 0.30% can cause a person to go into a coma or even die.

Justin Clark was driving around 10PM on July 29th when neighbors noticed him driving erratically. Residents reported that Clark was all over the road- hitting curbs and running up into one person’s yard.

When police arrived, residents flagged down the officers and pointed out Clark. He was sitting in his running vehicle revving the engine. An officer approached Clark through the driver’s side window, and Clark was unable to answer questions clearly and was also unable to get himself out of his vehicle.

Clark was given a breathalyzer test that showed his BAC level at 0.486%. He was then hospitalized, and a blood test showed his blood alcohol content at 0.627%.

Michael Takacs, a clinical assistant professor of emergency medicine and an emergency room doctor at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, explained that for a person to get to a 0.627% blood alcohol level, they would have to consume 35 shots, bottles of beer or glasses of wine in four hours.

Clark was lucky enough to have survived, but as Takacs said, high blood alcohol levels can have lasting health effects, including brain atrophy and liver damage.

Holy shit. I feel buzzed after one glass of Riesling. This guy either has a serious drinking problem or he's some kind of robot.

And on that note, don't drink and drive. If you're going to party, do so responsibly and not like this dickbag.
