Man Gets Hand Bitten Off by Gator then Gets Arrested for Feeding It

Wallace Weatherholt, an airboat tour guide in the Florida Everglades, got his hand bitten off by a nine foot alligator while dangling a fish off the side of his airboat.

Too add insult to injury, Weatherholt, 63, was arrested right after the incident, as feeding alligators is illegal because the alligator will lose their fear of humans.

He faces second-degree misdemeanor charge for an alleged act that might have provoked the attack.

The incident took place in front of an Indiana family that was taking an airboat tour at Captain Doug’s Small Airport Tours.

The family said that Weatherholt was hanging a fish over the side of the boat and had his hand just above the water’s surface when the gator suddenly appeared and attacked.

Weatherholt managed to steer the boat back to the docks and immediately went to the hospital, but sadly, doctors were unable to reattach his hand.

How incredibly shitty. This guy was probably just doing what he always does, and now he's going to have to go all Captain Hook for the rest of his life.
