WTF Wednesday
Large 'Rat Monster' Found Washed Up Near the East River
Well, there's definitely something in the water, to say the least...
Gothamist received three graphic photos of this disgusting creature on the shore of the East River.
The individual who submitted the photos wrote,
The beast was found under the Brooklyn Bridge on the Manhattan side.
The first reported "Montauk Monster" was spotted in 2008, and since then some more similar animals have washed up in different locations, and with each one new theories are tossed around: a turtle without its shell, a raccoon, a dog, a pig, movie props, lab tested animal from Plum Island, etc.
Just a bloated dead rat? Maybe. But it's scary to think that it's possible there is some kind of weird giant mutant animal conspiracy occurring here.
Gag.

"Is this another incarnation of the Montauk Monster, or just the biggest rat in the city? [The animal] was maybe two feet, a bit more perhaps, head to tail."
