Michigan Now Uses Talking Urinal Cakes to Deter Drunk Driving

Michigan has gotten extremely creative in their efforts to keep drunken drivers off the road.

Talking urinal-deodorizer cakes are being distributed to Michigan Licensed Beverage Association members in Wayne County, including Detroit, state officials announced. When you make a pee on the cake, a recorded message plays reminding men to call a cab or a friend, if needed, to get home safely.

According to the director of the Michigan Office of Highway Safety Planning, Michael L. Prince: "Not only do we want to turn some heads and get people talking, we hope everyone takes the message to heart,"
Although this may seem quite humorous, the hope is that the seriousness of the message will stand out and encourage people to find a safe ride home instead of getting behind the wheel after heavily imbibing.

Hey, whatever works - if a talking urinal cake helps remind dudes not to get DUIs then that is a "win" for Michigan. Kudos on thinking outside the box, and into the urinal.
