BREAKING NEWS: Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes to Divorce

Well I didn't see this one coming today.

Tom Cruise, 49, and Katie Holmes, 33, have decided to divorce after five years of marriage. The couple has a 6-year-old daughter, Suri, and in a statement to PEOPLE magazine, Holmes' lawyer, Jonathan Wolfe, said:"This is a personal and private matter for Katie and her family,"

"Katie's primary concern remains, as it always has been, her daughter's best interest."
Cruise was previously married to Nicole Kidman (with whom he has two adopted children), whom he divorced right before the 10-year mark, clearly to avoid an even more massive payout, and he was married to Mimi Rogers before that.

Cruise divorcing Holmes isn't shocking though - you never see them together, and considering all the rumors that have surrounded Cruise for years (ala John Travolta), this whole thing seemed more like a business arrangement than a romance from the start.

Hopefully Holmes gets a big fat paycheck for her stint as his wife. I wonder who Cruise will be "auditioning" next.
