Yeah, you read the title correctly. Darryle See, of Michigan City, was walking on railroad tracks late Friday morning when an Amtrak train traveling 110 mph approached him. Conductors honked the train’s horn multiple times and then slammed on the emergency brakes.
The 22-year-old didn’t hear the train’s horn because he was listening to music… so he didn’t move out of the way. The train nailed See and knocked him 20 feet away from the tracks.
In most cases involving someone getting hit by a train, we talk about funeral dates, but this time the pedestrian survived the impact. See was alert and talking to police, LaPorte County Police Maj. John Boyd told NBC Chicago.
