Teen Mom's Amber Portwood Sentenced to Five Years in Jail

Today is a very sad day for Teen Mom's Amber Portwood.

The troubled teen mother was sentenced today five years in prison by an Indiana judge. Portwood has been on a bit of a "roller-coaster ride" with her troubles. Back in February, she was sentenced to five years behind bars, but had negotiated a plea deal that allowed her to stay out of prison as long as she completed a drug rehab program.

In an epically stupid maneuver, she quit the program and asked to be incarcerated instead. The judge on her case refused her lawyer's request for leniency on the sentence, but gave her credit for time already served and said he will refer her to a prison treatment program.

I feel terrible for Portwood's young daughter, Leah, but hopefully she is in good hands with her father, Gary Shirley. What a terrible situation all around.
