NAIL SWAG
3-D Nail Design
While they're not entirely practical, there's no doubt that 3-D nail art is fascinating to look at.
For those of you who don't know what 3-D nail art is, it's the process of creating three-dimensional artwork on your digits. Typically, these designs are created on acrylic or gel nails, although they can be done on natural nails, it's just less common.
To create the designs, the artist adds colored acrylic to a mold using a paintbrush and waits for it to harden. Once the acrylic dries and hardens, the artist removes the 3-D nail art from the mold and glues it to the nail. Some artists also freehand mold the designs right on the nail.
The most commonly executed designs are flowers and bows. With the rise in popularity of cray nail art though, things like ice cream cones and Hello Kitty are becoming a lot more mainstream.
