The Easter Island Heads Actually Have Bodies

World officially rocked.

This apparently isn't "new" news, as this excavation has been going on for quite some time as part of the Easter Island Statue Project, but it is news to me that the infamous heads from Easter Island actually have bodies!

General perception is that these statues were made sometime between 1250 and 1500 AD, but there is controversy surrounding why the bodies may be buried. Some feel as though it was caused by time and erosion, while others think they were buried on purpose. ALIENS?!?

The bodies of the "heads" have some really interesting carvings which are believed to be some type of petroglyph. Underground cities, underground bodies...what does it all mean?!!?!

I wonder if Valeria Lukyanova has the answer.
