BLOODY HELL
Dr. Rev’s Artwork Painted in Blood
Dr. Rev Mayers is an Australian tattoo artist with a passion for creating red artwork using only blood (yes, you read that right- BLOOD). Utilizing a variety of techniques, he paints incredibly detailed works of art that are fascinatingly creepy.
Although it might weird some people out that Dr. Rev uses his own blood for his work, his style definitely has been quite successful, as his art has been exhibited all over the world.
According to Oddity Central, The Sydney-based tattoo artist uses airbrushing, standard paint brushing, scraping, smudging and layering to create his realistic masterpieces that aim to depict growth, human constraint while capturing the viewer’s heart and soul. In time, he has managed to progress naturally from tattooing and doing body art, to his new found passion, blood painting.
I dig it because it's dark and it a little twisted, but is undoubtedly beautiful as it challenges societal norms. While not everyone might be able appreciate it, you can't knock a guy for doing something he loves and sharing his talent with the world.
